With a Good Feeling　

年末年始のお休みに、家族でグアム旅行に出かけてきました。記憶が薄れないうちに書かないと！（帰国してから4ヵ月経過中 ）
Almost 4 months have already passed, since I came back from Guam, which was a fun family trip !!!

今回の日程は3泊4日。グアム旅行では一般的な日程だと思うのですが、すべてが「のんびりペース」の我家では ぜんぜん足りませんでした～（笑）
We stayed in Guam for 3 nights for this trip. Honestly, I wanted to stay there longer to enjoy more!!!

グアム旅行は本当に久し振り。子供たちが小さいころは「近くの海外」ということで 毎年のように訪れていましたが、子供たちが大きくなって すっかりご無沙汰してました。
I don't know how many times I visited Guam with my family, many times !!! Being located near Japan (about 3 and a half hours of flight ) makes the trip easier, especially for the family with small kids. Now my kids are not small any more, still, there seems to remain reasons that we love to visit Guam.

今回は午前中出発のフライトだったので、成田のホテルに前泊しました。家族旅行のときは車で行った方が楽なので、前泊したホテルに車を停めておくか、または空港近隣の駐車場に停めることにしています。前泊すると、出発当日の交通トラブルの心配をしなくて済むので、精神的に安心です
We stayed at a hotel near the airport from the night before the departure. You know, there are some good points to do so; we can use a car to carry heavy bags (no need to carry them between train stations) and use a parking lot of the hotel during the trip, also there are no concerns about the traffic conditions for the day of departure in time for a morning flight

さて、旅の備忘録として、以下に旅の記録を残します。
Well, I put some information about the trip below

飛行機：
ユナイテッド航空。海外旅行の時はよく利用させてもらう航空会社です。いつもはユナイテッドのHPから予約するのですが、なぜかシステム上で午前出発便の予約だけが取れなかったので、今回はエクスペディア経由で予約。帰国時にタモンのT-CAT（DFS内地下1階）で搭乗手続きができて便利でした！

Flight:
United Airlines, we often use this airline company when going overseas. I normally make a reservation on the Web site of United Airlines, however for this trip, I do not know why but could not make the reservation of the morning flight on the system and thus had no choice but to get the tickets via Expedia. As the merit to use United Airlines, we could check in for the flight back to Japan at T-CAT inside the T Galleria DFS in Tumon.

ESTA：
グアム行きのために「ESTA」を取得したのは今回が初めてです。いつもはESTA代をけちって、家族全員分の書類を機内で必死に書いていたのですが、ハワイ行きのときにESTAの便利さを覚えてしまい、今回もESTAで入国。記入すべき書類の数がぐんと減るので本当に助かります。
入国の際に「ESTA専用レーン」もあったのですが、年末年始においては この専用レーンも激混みだったので、ESTAがあったから入国がスムーズにできたとは決して言えない状況でした。もしかしたら、ESTAじゃないレーンの方が早かったかも…。

ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization):
It is not necessary to take ESTA for travelling to Guam, but we obtained ESTA to decrease the number of immigration documents that we had to prepare for submitting at the airport.
There was an exclusive ESTA lane at Guam Airport Immigration, however, since this lane was more crowded than a normal lane with travelers for New Year holidays, I don't think it helped us passing through Immigration more smoothly or faster than those in the normal lane.

ホテル：
ホテルは「アウトリガー・グアム・ビーチ・リゾート」（オーシャン・フロント、朝食付きプラン）
子供たちが小さいころは プールが充実した郊外のホテルに泊まり、朝から夕方までプール＆海三昧というのが定番でしたが、ようやくその時期を脱し、賑やかな地区に泊まることができるように
アウトリガーのHPから予約しましたが、繁忙期のためか、めずらしく自社HP予約のメリットはありませんでした。皆さんの口コミにあった「朝食券を昼食券に変更する」こともできず、その他のリクエストも通らず…
アウトリガーは、ショッピングや食事など、送迎をお願いしなくても徒歩で気軽に出かけられるので便利ですね
またオーシャンフロントからの眺めもGOOD！ 特に、大晦日の花火は楽しみの一つ 今回はベランダから3方向で花火があがるのが見えて感激でした。そうそう、花火から少し離れた位置に、なんだか飛行機じゃないものが飛んだり、静止したり、消えたり、数が変化したりしてましたが、あれはドローン？それとも…

Hotel:
Outrigger Guam Beach Resort, Ocean Front Room with breakfast
I was very happy to stay at the hotel close to both beach and downtown! When my kids were small, we used to stay at a suburban hotel with large swimming pool and spend most of the time in the swimming pool or the sea
We enjoyed the nice view from the balcony every day. Especially, the New Year fireworks were awesome We enjoyed the fireworks in three directions While watching the fireworks, we could recognize something flying and staying in the sky for a certain time, definitely not an airplane, one (1) object then suddenly got three (3), changing the shape... What was that, was that a drone or what???

ショッピング：
久し振りのグアムだったので、嬉しくて あちこち見て回りました。昔から「メイシーズ」が大好きで、アメリカに行ったときはメイシーズは外せません！グアムではマイクロネシアモール内にあります。JCBのキャンペーンで15%引きも利用できて、お得な買い物ができました！
いつもは個人輸入で購入している「ビタミンワールド」のサプリ（マイクロネシアモール内）や「エリアブリン」のレッグジェル（ABCストア内）なども この際に大人買いです！（個人輸入について書いたブログは、こちらのページからどうぞ！→ ビタミンワールド、エリアブリン）

Shopping:
I really enjoyed shopping in Guam, you know, shopping in Guam is basically tax free! I love to shop especially at Macy's, which is one of my favorite stores and located in Micronesia Mall, where I could buy many stuff with a special 15% discount by paying with a certain credit card! Of course, I bought lots of dietary supplements from Vitamin World and Heliabrine Jambes Legeres from ABC Stores! (I usually buy them via private import by paying for overseas transportation fee.)

レストラン：
いろいろと食べに出かけたのですが、特に思い出に残ったところとして、
TGI FRIDAYS　最近は日本でも見かけますよね。でも日本では入ったことがなかったので、グアムのタモンのお店に行ってみました。いろんなお料理を頼んで、いつもどおり家族みんなでシェア。メニューに写真が多く掲載されていたので、料理がどんな感じだか分かりやすく注文が楽でした。全般的にどの料理も美味しかった～ お店の雰囲気も明るくて 居心地が良かったです

元旦のサンデーブランチ（アウトリガー、パームカフェ）現地でも家族、親戚が集う元旦のサンデーブランチ、ちょっと割高でしたが、雰囲気を味わいたくて行ってみました。とても混んでいたので予約は（できたら早目に）必須です。旅行客は少数派で、現地のファミリーで賑やかだったように感じます。ビュッフェ形式で美味しそうなお料理がたくさん並んでいました！連日の食べ歩きのせいで胃袋が疲れていて、残念ながらそんなにたくさんは食べられなかったのですが、グアムの新年の雰囲気を存分に楽しめました。

Restaurant:
We visited some restaurants, out of which we liked
TGI FRIDAYS We ordered and shared many dishes since they looked so yummy and we wanted to try each of them! They showed the menu with many photos, easier to order for foreigners We also loved the atmosphere of the restaurant; happy and comfortable

New Year Sunday Brunch at Palm Cafe, Outrigger Guam Resort
It was the time when families and relatives got together and celebrated the New Year Thus, the restaurant was very crowded, reservation indispensable!!! Rather expensive Sunday brunch, however, there was a happy New Year atmosphere and we enjoyed various good dishes We needed bigger stomachs, though ... could eat only a part of the buffet

楽しかったグアム、今回はビーチで遊ぶ時間が取れず、やはり3泊4日では足りませんでした。また行きます！
See, 3 nights was not enough at all, next time I wanna try some beach activities also
